Eight Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars will fight for overall victory, while two Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport cars defend the Porsche colours in GT Sport
Zonhoven, 26 August 2026. The 48th edition of the Belisol 24 Hours of Zolder is immediately the most important round of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux. In the first part of the preview of this classic, the regular championship contenders were highlighted, but they are not alone. Just like in previous years, other teams are joining the grid, with or without very well-known names, to take a shot at victory. Moreover, it is not only the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – that will be present, as the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport will also compete in the GT Sport class. After 21 victories in the Belisol 24 Hours of Zolder, Porsche is aiming to add a 22nd on 30 August!
Belgium Racing Team, ART Racing and MM Racing will battle for overall victory at Circuit Zolder on 29 and 30 August, as well as for important points in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux title fight. The latter does not apply to Ajith-Redant Racing, the reigning winners. The East Flemish team, which recently moved to a new workshop at Circuit Zolder, knows the saying ‘Never change a winning team’ all too well and will bring four of last year’s five winners to the Limburg classic.
“We are indeed doing it with Dylan Pereira, Kobe De Breucker, Ayrton and Yannick Redant,” team owner and former winner Bert Redant confirms. “The fifth driver is Milan Marczak, the current leader in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux standings. That makes our ambition crystal clear: we want to add a second victory to the team’s palmares. However, we realise that it will not be straightforward, as the competition is strong – very strong indeed.”
Winners and world champions at NGT Racing
Among that competition is D’Ieteren Luxury Performance by NGT Racing, which took victory two years ago, of course with Porsche. There is continuity there too, as Bertrand Baguette and Glenn van Parijs will once again take their seats in the #92 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 –, alongside former winner and 2024 FIA WEC World Champion Laurens Vanthoor, Tom Van Rompuy, who has already stood on the Le Mans podium three times, and Briton Jonny Edgar. There is little doubt that this quintet is among the absolute favourites for overall victory.
Also within the ranks of NGT Racing are two strong outsiders. The #15 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – features a mix of young guns and experienced racers. Emilien Allart, Alex De Schepper and Vic Stevens represent the younger generation and will receive support from Ian Gepts and Benjamin De Cock, who have already completed the 24 Hours of Zolder on several occasions.
In the third Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – from NGT Racing, we find Mathias Beke and Lex Quintens, who know the team from the Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux, among other series. They will be joined by experienced racers Mathieu Detry and Wouter Manderveld.
In total, no fewer than eight Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – cars will fight for overall victory in the 48th edition of the Belisol 24 Hours of Zolder. But the Porsche story does not end there.
Porsche battle also in GT Sport
Two Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport cars will make their appearance in the GT Sport class. After three of the five races, both line-ups are currently first and third respectively in the GT Sport standings of the Belcar Endurance Championship, once again proving Porsche’s strength in GT and endurance racing.
VR Racing by NGT leads the way in GT Sport and is calling upon a particularly varied quintet for the endurance race. At 72 years old and with his 40th participation, Dirk Van Rompuy is one of the monuments of the Limburg classic. At the other end of the spectrum is 18-year-old Mauro Polderman. Belle Rappange, who has enjoyed success in the Porsche Sprint Challenge, experienced racer Erik Qvick and endurance driver Nicolas Guelinckx complete the line-up.
Q1 Trackracing, which sits third after the races in Zolder, Assen and Spa, opts for a three-driver line-up: regular drivers Rajko Pagen and Bram Hendrix, joined by former professional footballer Ruud Boffin.
Action starts around Circuit Zolder on Wednesday
Race week kicks off on Wednesday afternoon with the traditional parade from the circuit to the Heldenplein in Heusden (15:30). Thursday is dedicated to practice, culminating in the battle for pole position (19:15) and the night test (21:40–23:40). Admission to the circuit is free on Thursday!
On Saturday 29 August at 16:00, the lights will go green for the 48th edition of the Belisol 24 Hours of Zolder. Exactly 24 hours later, on Sunday 30 August at 16:00, we will know whether Porsche has added a 22nd victory to its impressive palmares in the Limburg classic.
